My Story —

I fought valiantly for my marriage after discovering the years of betrayal and deceit my husband introduced into our relationship. My divorce was finalized in May 2023, ending a 49-year marriage. The journey my recovery from betrayal trauma and PTSD has taken me on has been truly life-changing. I have benefited from support groups, counseling, and coaching.

From recovery support resources, I have learned to have boundaries, detach, practice meaningful self-care, listen to my body and nervous system, and practice somatic healing. I have found much healing by hiking and listening to God’s creation.

My Story — continued…

During recovery, I returned to school and received a Master of Arts degree in positive psychology from Indiana Wesleyan University. My studies were another significant part of my healing process. I learned the importance of gratitude, the hero’s (or heroine’s) journey, and post-traumatic growth. I knew that my core values were spirituality, honesty, learning, adventure, and appreciation of beauty. To live with integrity, I must be true to my values.

I am enrolled in a PhD program at Liberty University, studying Psychology: Theology. I am an Associate Certified Coach (ACC) with the International Coaching Federation (ICF) and a Certified Partner Coach (CPC) with the Association of Partners of Sex Addict Trauma Specialists (APSATS).
